  Why get "personal" when discussing a topic?

  trading insults happens among kids all the time.. intellectual development hasn't progressed to the point where they can present contrary ideas and opinions with persuasive appeal to reasons, facts and logic.. "i know you are; but what am i?".

  "your momma's so fat....".

  so, they fall back on childish mocking, provocation and personal attack.. as we grow older and have more education and sophistication our minds should mature---or so you'd think!.

  well being honest only got upset once on this site and logged off for a month. The troll PM'ed me something demeaning and rude. I don't care now it's just a thing... don't take them serious life is too short

  i remember hearing from a former elder of a situation he found himself in while conducting the old weekly bible study.

  that morning only one male was present during the morning study, however that brother forgot his tie.

  under instruction from the slave, any brother not properly dressed for a meeting is not to have any congregation priviledges (hold mics, talk, attendent, magazines, reading).

  When I was a congregation PO, a DO asked me to talk to an elder in our cong who's African American wife wore her hair extremely short. The DO told me it was inappropriate because she was a pioneer and the short hair made her look like a lesbian.

  I refused and told him if he had a problem then he should talk to them himself.

  Don't think he ever did.

  funny I've noticed a lot of African American women keep it short short. I had a few of them tell me I'm a rare white girl that can pull it off. I take that as a complement

  I ran the sound system in the hall before I left. That was unless the CO or some big wig came around then they found a male, that always messed up

  I don't look like a lesbien Not that i have any problems with gay/lesbien I'm just not one.

  have you ever met people more suspicious and paranoid than jws?.

  "did you hear about the demon-possessed smurfs?....play that record backward and it says 'worship satan!

  '....world war 2 was started by satan as an attempt to eradicate jehovah's witnessess....the un has secret plans to attack religion soon - i heard it from my 3rd cousin's nephew's chiropractor....'they' are sneaking blood products into candy bars....".

  i just thought you should know that mrs cedars has finally taken the plunge and joined the forum.

  she was able to log on for the first time yesterday.. though we both "awakened" at different stages, mrs cedars was very supportive and non-judgmental when i first began exploring my beliefs from a critical standpoint.

  she is currently in the process of reading crisis of conscience and aquainting herself with some of the facts of witness history that were hitherto unknown.

  if you grow up speaking english and you move to mexico you don't automatically speak spanish, know customs, understand currency, possess skills.

  for self-support or have any special insight into latino mindset.. .

  why would you expect leaving jehovah's witnesses would leave you any less ill-equipped to navigate the real world?.

  I think it's good to know you are not alone in this strugle. Sometimes I under estimate the strugle and think just cuz I know it's BS I should be over it. It doesn't work that way hu? I WAS one of Jehovah's witnesses for 33 years that doesn't just go away. It wasn't going to church on Sunday, it was ME. Reality stinks sometimes but I was in need of a reality check So this is my last day of vacation and I will spend it trying to heal just a bit, just a bit

  for me the best "cause" was soy, yes soy apparantly turns people into homosexuals, lmao!.

  I recieved some "education" from a gay nurse a few months ago. Some of it was TMI and cuz there may be underaged people here I'll refrain. He did make one comment that kinda struck me. He feels we all have a pendulum of gay vs straight. In life it may vary. He is obvious gay flamboint and isn't shy about it, yet he said he has been with woman. It's just a mood thing for him, and where he is in relationships.....
